Micah Greenstein

Rabbi

Rabbi Micah Greenstein heads up Temple Israel, one of the oldest and largest Jewish congregations in Tennessee. His career has been marked by combining thought with action: active on the board of the National Civil Rights Museum and having served as a national board member of the NAACP.

He bridges his faith’s traditions with those of others as two-time president of the Memphis Ministers Association and was named one of America’s Top 50 Rabbis by Newsweek/The Daily Beast. His education may attest to his aims: He has a bachelor’s in economics, master’s degrees in Public Administration and Hebrew Letters, and a Doctor of Divinity degree — and he’s a Harvard Kennedy Fellow. Greenstein is coauthor of “What Do Our Neighbors Believe? Questions and Answers on Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.”
